I have been building custom cabinets and furniture since his my high school days at Prairie City Monroe. With help from my shop teacher Joe St.Peter and FFA teacher Ed Ricks, I learned the basic skills necessary to set the foundation of my future woodworking career. I made sure to learn well every twist and turn of the trade and that included working for a couple of local cabinetmakers and going to Des Moines Area Community College for there Entrepreneurship program. That helped learn the business part. I also worked with SCORE, retired business people who helped me fine tune my business plan, especially in the financial portion of the plan. When it was time to go it alone I wouldn't be cutting corners, I want to be better, and most importantly be there for the customer. I have been a volunteer for the Reasnor Fire Department since I was 18. With this dedication I have training in firefighter I and hazmat. As I was working on getting my business started I was also taking EMT (emergency medical technician) classes through Mercy Hospital to help better serve the community I live in. I have since completed the EMT classes and I am now a nationally certified EMT Basic.
