Finished!!!

Well I am done with the kitchen in Newton, Iowa. Just to recap the total project the wood that was used is quarter sawn red oak which gave the project a very unique look. If your unsure of truly what quarter sawn wood is go to my my website customwoodworksonline.com and click on wood choices to the left and there is a full definition and pictures to better explain. The doors and drawers are inset, and the drawers feature through dovetails with a portion of the dovetail exposed on the front of the drawer. This was a detail that the customer requested and Custom Woodworks delivered. The kitchen also has a end grain hard maple butcher block countertop that has a natural mineral oil finish so that it can be used for food preperation.

Check out the past post on this blog to see the progress of this kitchen from begining to end and for the pictures of the finished kitchen go to customwoodworksonline.com/Kitchens.html.

Every piece of wood that is seen in these pictures was proudly made in the Custom Woodworks shop!

Finally Installing

Well, finally after months of work and a little longer construction time than planed the kitchen is installed. The install went fairly smoothly with the inevitable sloping floors and crooked walls of an old house. The only thing left for me to do is make some trim and a few other small things.
